Bearing One Another’s Burdens: Roof Wrecking Love & Fall Kick-Off Open House Brunch
Paul said, that in the end, “… faith, hope, and love abide, these three: but the greatest of these is love.” (I Corinthians 13: 13) Love is the greatest because love does things, heroic things, sacrificial things, beautiful things, and unimaginable things. So paramount is love, Jesus told his disciples that the way the world would know him, was the quality of their love for each other. Yes, real love for people does things like tear roofs off of a building to get a friend to Jesus, real love gives time, resources, and life to help make life a little easier for others. This is what we will talk about Sunday. Love is not for sissies and the faint of heart, but it is for all who are weary and will run to Jesus with their burdens.Sunday is also a big day for another reason. At 9:15 we have an Open House and Brunch for all ages. We invite parents to visit their children’s Sunday School Class and then after that we have food, fellowship, and all the information you need about what is going on at St. Patrick this Fall. I urge you, if you are interested in St. Patrick (whether you have children or not), to come early, enjoy a biscuit and coffee, and browse around the Narthex and Lobby. In these areas will be tables set up with information about various ministries at St. Patrick. At these tables will also be people who can answer your questions and help you get “connected” and plugged in.At the end of the day, while St. Patrick has different types and expressions of ministry, they are all designed to do one simple thing: “Create new/better disciples who love God, love people, and love life.” All of our ministries are designed to “connect” you with other people in a deep and meaningful way.So, I can’t wait to for Sunday. I can’t wait to help you connect deeply with Jesus and other people who love Jesus. And I can’t wait to worship with tribe St. Patrick and together make a big deal about Jesus!Blessings,Jim
